They have a fantastic front four to their rotation. I think it will depend on the kids in the line up. If the kids hit the ball well the D-Backs could make a run for the playoffs. If they don't hit well they will likely finish in last place.

A few of the West teams made some solid free agent pick ups this off season including the Diamond Back. Their young lineup is impressive however the veteren pitching that is in the west this year i.e. Maddux, Zito, Schmidt, Peavy, Penny, Lowe, and Wells (to name a few) could prove to be difficult for the dbacks prospects. The west could have all 5 teams at or around .500 at the allstar break but the veterans of some of the other clubs will be the difference in the end. If they dont show signs of slowing down by mid August I can see them competing with the Dodgers for first.

The Arizona DiamondBacks have two things going for them 1. They are in the National League and 2. They are in the NL West division which is pretty much open for the taking as there are no dominant teams in that division so anything is possible.

They may win 85 games this year even though Randy Johnson isn't the same pitcher he used to be.

Randy Johnson rejoined the team, and he always seem to perform well there, so I guess they got a chance of rt the pennent.

being in the NL should help randy. they have lots of great young players, if they develop correctly, they will be pretty good.
