Trombone - 8 years
Euphonium - 5 years
Tuba - 3 years
Trumpet - 3 years
Auxilliary percussion - ~2 years
French Horn - 1 year
Timpani - 1 year
Piano - 6 months
Mallets - about a week =)

I'm trying to beome a band director, so having the variety of instruments is pretty important to my chance of success. I'm probably the most successful on euphonium, but I'm proudest of piano. I have no coordination whatsoever, got a VERY late start (Im a junior in HS- my peers have been playing since elementary school,) and am completely self taught. I'm not good yet, but I'm getting close enough that maybe one day I'll be good.

I still practice the fingerings in my head instead of counting sheep when i cant sleep.

Play clarinet, sax and guitar which I still play regularly, and my first instrument was a recorder which I still have in the drawer but haven't played it for years!

I played cello also, but it was too big for me. I did enjoy it and hope to someday pick it up again to help relieve stress.
