I think it's actually easier today - in a way. I don't remember kids being ADHD or having "problems" to the extent that they couldn't function in school when I was growing up. That kind of stuff got smacked out of you in a heartbeat and we were better for it. Today it's so easy to put a label on a kid & hand them a pill to solve all their problems and put them in the box with everyone else. We don't really know the long term affects of that "solution" to the "problem." It would seem to me that considering how many adults are walking around with prescription drug addictions might give us the "heads up" that it's not such a great idea to present pills as a solution to a problem to children at a very young age. Why WOULDN'T they grow up thinking a pill is going to solve everything? In that way I would say it's definitely harder to be a kid today. Schools trying to maintain certain statistics aren't going to just let an average kid slide by & ruin their stats. That kid must be ADHD...here....let's give him a pill to fix it. It's time we started disciplining our kids again & making known what is expected out of them & showing that we mean it by being active in their lives & making sure they aren't slacking.

there is more pressure for college and other stuff now than in the 80's when I was a teen but there are also more funds availible to do that stuff, we didnt have college grants to go to school on if you didnt have the money you either went to work or did nothing there wasnt any in between so in my opinion its easier now than when I was a teen.

The results of more pressure are because, of the competition to get into schools, and getting scholarships. This comes with more population.

I THINK ITS HARDER FOR TEENAGERS TODAY CUASE NOW THERES ALOT MORE CRAZY DRUGS AND VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS AND EVERYWHERE ACUALLY. YOU COULD GET SHOT NOWADAYS FOR GETTIN NEW SHOES AND WALKING HOME THE WRONG WAY. sorry bout the capslock. alot of these kids growin up with crackheads and junkies for parents and ****. people naturally get more violent and destructive as the generations pass. so naturally the kids will adapt to their suroundings and do what they gotta do to get by.

About the same, but that's just because I haven't been out of my teens all that long.
