It depends in which if any, creation myth you believe in.
If you have faith that the theory of evolution is wrong and the world is only 7,000 years old, then God made Adam and Eve.
God also created the sexual differences between them.
Adam and Eve carried out the first sexual act by humans.
The theory of evolution shows that the Earth is much,much older.Also that man and woman have been slowly evolving into genetically recognisable humans for millenia.
Driven by the inherent need to procreate their species, one or more pairs of early primitive humans felt the irresistible desire to mate.
With out really understanding why they felt the attraction. Over millenea we have evolved considerably, but still maintain the need and desire to mate with a particular type of our species.
This is referred to as natural selection.
We are usually attracted to healthy attractive and active members of the opposite sex.The reason being our need to procreate,no matter how we attempt to pretty it up from the clinical basics.
This we can interperate as love or lust.
But it does not require love to be present to concieve.
Just a mating at the correct time of the females fertility cycle.

The Bible says Adam & Eve. It is difficult to say what exactly qualifies a 'person' , how can you draw a line and say the son is a human but the mother is not?
