My wireless network is working fine. I'm connected and the signal is strong......but for some reason internet pages won't load or can't be found....AIM won't connect....so basically my internet isn't working though i'm connected. (i'm currently not using wireless while i'm writing this). Everything was working fine just a couple hours ago. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

have you connected directly to your router and does it work?

I have had my DSL be down yet it still seems to be sending a good signal and tells me I am connected. The way to tell for certain, other than plugging directly in to the computer, is if you use your browser to load with your service configuration of the router. The typical address to use is http://192.168.1.1. As long as your router is working your should be able to connect with it.

Sign in. The usual name and pw is Admin and Admin. If that doesn't work try Admin and password. If you have ever gone in to your settings for port forwarding it's the same place. But select status and connection summery. It will either show you connection rate or tell you you are not connected.

I would do one of these things to confirm your network is working as fine as it appears to be. And of course I would reboot the modem/router (leave off for at least 2 min) and the computer and see if that fixes it..if not time to call your provider.

Good luck!

I've seen the problem a couple times.
One is if you are a bit far from the wireless point, the signal can be strong, but the data keeps getting interupted.
The data point checks to see if the data makes sense and if not, it keeps trying to resend.

Also, if you have very high encription it can slow it way down.

One other option I've seen is strong connetion, but data rate shows at only 1 to 5 Mb. I just powered down and reset the system and it came back up.
