my science fair project is due tomorrow. we are suppose to put results and conclusion on the board, don't they mean the same thing? what is the difference?

They really aren't the same. The results are your raw data. The conclusion should be what your results mean and how they are significant - your interpretation.

For example, maybe you were studying how temperature affected plant growth. Your results would be a table or graph of temp 1 = height 1, temp 2 = height 2, etc.

Your conclusion might be something like "We found that by increasing the temperature, plant growth increased as well until we reached a temperature of 88o, then growth began to decrease. This explains why the crop will grow better in location A than location B, because B has annual temperatures above 88o for most of the growing season."

At some point in the introduction you should say why you are studing your problem/experiment. You want the conclusion to relate to that.

results are the results of the the test that your just did

conclusion is yr final statement, summarising everything you just did.

results are exactly what happens when you do an experiment..conclusion is what you have figured out because of the experiment....
