Careful what you wish for. Don't you remember Bush's first 6 years when he always got what he wanted from Congress?

The problem is, there has to be 60 votes in the Senate to cut off debate so a bill can be voted upon. That means the Republicans can read "Gone With the Wind" aloud until the Democrats give up. When debate is closed, then it takes a simple majority to pass.

That was one thing about Clinton. He kept using his veto pen against a Republican Congress until until they gave him a compromise he (& we) could live with.

No one has more power than the other. It's called checks and balances. The president can't really do much without the support of congress and vice versa. Those two also have the supreme court looking over them as well.
