I was drinking around 14 pepsi's a day, so now I might be diabetic. I should know tomorrow when I see my doctor. My feet have a numb feeing to them and keep getting all black and blue if I go outside when it's cold. So I only drank 6 today but I have a headach and a sick stomach. Is there a easier way too cut back without feeling so sick?

I used to drink a Big Gulp size Coke everyday. I realized that a few days of headaches was worth it in the end. I now sleep better and feel better. I quit cold turkey. I stopped drinking soda all together on New Year's Eve and I haven't had any since. I don't think I'll ever go back to drinking Coke again to be with honest with you. I feel that my health is more important. I think it's mainly all about willpower. Hang in there.

I don't believe the caffeine in itself is cause for your possible diabetes. The corn-syrup/sugar in the Pepsi can be the problem.

What I did was to initially switch from regular Pepsi's to diet, then to diet-no caffeine drinks. By switching gradually, cutting back on the sugars or caffeine a few more each day, it will be easiest on your body. I've taken it a step further by switching to caffeine-free iced tea or to the flavored waters.

The first 2 or 3 days of less caffeine are the most uncomfortable.
As you cut back the caffeine intake a bit more each day, I think you will be surprised at how quickly you can switch-over with barely any negative symptoms.

I drink tons of Coke, and have been trying to cut back. I tried going cold turkey, but the headaches got to me. I've been gradually cutting back, and replacing with water (flavored water works well for me).

I found an article that said the withdrawal symptons usually only last for a few days up to a week, so maybe I should give "cold turkey" another try. http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/19/41.cfm

Switch over to Green Tea. The caffeine isn't as heavy but Green Tea is good for you. Helps digestion, speeds up metabalism, and you get your required x amount of water per day.

That's what I did, just switched over from coffee to Green Tea about 6 months ago. No headaches, no withdrawals (you're still getting caffeine), better digestion, less stomach irritation.

Switch to coffee or tea. Tea actually has more caffeine than coffee or soda, plus it's full of anti-oxidants and tannic acid, which are good for you. Lay off the sugar, though.

You need to stop drinking soda altogether. Maybe drink some coffee a couple times a day; that's natural and actually has nutritional value, whereas soda has none.

Hydrate yourself with healthier drinks, your body is just going through withdrawals. It will go away, unlike getting diabetes.
