I heard he tore his ACL, PCL, MCL, and lateral meniscus. He also dislocated his patella and tibia-femoral joint! This just sounds like a devastating injury to his promising NBA career as he'll probably never be as quick and agile again. Do you think he'll be able to make it all the way back?

I think he will. The injury has knocked him out of this season and definitely next season, but i'm sure he won't quit on himself. He will go have surgery and enter a grueling rehab program and fight the odds. The good news is that Livingston did not suffer damage to his circulatory or nervous systems. I also agree Livingston had a promising career and i do pray he overcomes the odds to play again at the same level again some day.

It will take him about a year to rehab, but he'll be able to come back. It's just a matter of sticking to the rehab and not coming back too soon. It's common for someone who tears their ACL to also tear the PCL (directly behind the ACL) and I've personally seen a guy who tore his ACL, PCL, LCL (the ligament on the inside of the leg, opposite the MCL) as well as the meniscus....who went on to have a good Division I football career after a year of rehab.

It's also common for players to dislocate their patella (knee cap) in a knee injury and the tibia-femoral joint (the knee joint itself) is going to slip when there is more then one ligament torn in the knee. Will his knee ever be the same? No, no one ever completely recovers from even a minor knee injury due to knocking the knee out of alignment when they injury it. But yes, he'll be able to play again with significant rehab.

it'll be a tough road back for the youngster, but i believe he will play again. he is a tall point guard so my guess is that he'll come back with less quickness and agility yet still enough to play shooting guard. his shot will develop over rehab and so will his upper body strength. it all depends on mental toughness if he wants to go through the hard work to get back out there.

He will, if the team willing to take him and be patience with him. It'll take more than 2 years, that's for sure. However, he won't be pictured as the franchise player anymore. He'll probably end up being a role player.

Shaun is probably done. He has been injury plauged his whole career. If he were healthy and strong then maybe but this one is too devestating. He may play again but will never be the same.

I certainly hope so. I think to have a chance he'll have to be mentally strong and push the limits of his diagnosis. I think if he does make it back he'd be a step slower and not the quick riser he use to be. He'll have to learn to play a more cerebral game.

Well i think we would never be the same again because the injury its so serious that he would end up like Jason William . This is a sad story

Yes, he would try to come back and play in the NBA again but he will not be the same player and definitely will not get up to his potential.

Pretty sad to hear, even worse to watch. He will probably never be the same, physically or mentally.
