3 things they'll do to the phone

1) Smell it
2) Open up the battery
3) Try to turn it on

But like you said if the battery is red then your phone is gone they might not give you another phone they might tell you to buy a new one which will cost more then your phone cost when you first bought it.

I had a erricson once that fell out of my shirt pocket and into a bath. I suggest you just leave the phone in an open area but not in sun for a few days so that all moisture dries up. using the blow drier for drying this up may be harmful as the battery should never be subjected to high temperatures.

Your phone is definitely screwed. Not just because of water, but soap also. If your insurance does cover water damage, most likely it will be replaced with the same model of phone you have already. That's just how the insurance companies work.

Refrain from plugging it in, if there's any water remaining in the circuitry, it will probably fry your phone if you try to restore power. Disassemble it as much as you reasonably can, let it dry out for about a day, and if it still works it'll be fine. . . otherwise it's time to get a new phone.

WHen the color changed it meant that the battery shorted out and fried the circuit board. I suggest that next time yo uget insurance and then it doesnt matter.
