Here are some jobs young people typically perform.
- Babysitter
- Newspaper Delivery
- Local chores with neighbors
- Helping someone who works at local saturday market or crafters fair
- You can also look in the newspaper, some jobs will say any age apply (but they are few and far between)
- Youthcorps (they have a website, i know it is for youth, not sure what ages)
The best thing for you to do right now if you can't get a job may be to build your resume for when you turn 16 and can get more jobs legally. To build a resume you can volunteer at any one of numerous places. This will help you build skills and look great on a beginner's resume.

There are many ways you can earn money. I babysit and I get paid very well. But I think you have to be 13-14 to start.
My Rates
1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour
Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour
*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.
Another Idea is to have a bake sale/ lemonade stand. Me and my sisters baked all week, made poster signs and decided how much we should charge for each baking good. Any age is perfect for this job!
Another good job is to start a walking dogs for neighbors that have dogs. You can either put up posters around town, or hand out fliers to people you know that have dogs. I would charge 5 dollars per dog.
Another good job is to wash cars, or open a car wash buisness with friends for a few days, mow the lawn, and help people clean there house that might need help.
You could also work at fast food restaurtants, or grocery stores too

People can really be nasty.
YES. You can get jobs. In order to bypass child labor laws visit your health department for a special form. You'll need to have a physical and doctor fill out the form. But, call them for specifics as every state is different.
I worked at Burger King when I was your age and my brother was a bagger at a local grocer. Look in your yellow pages and see who will hire someone your age with the waiver. Most likely smaller mom and pop places will hire you.
You'll probably work about 10-15 hours a week max due to your age. There are caps even with the waiver.
Also, the red cross certifies baby sitters at 13. Both of my neighbors have certifications and baby sit my son.

I think you can get one at like a sub or pizza shop. You need your parent's consent. Maybe a small bookstore. Working for a family member is probably your best bet, though.
