Something got me really upset the other night. I was at my friends house and she got a call from one of our other friends and she was driving with her other friend and they both had been having a good deal to drink. I had to go but they were driving around who knows where and it was taking them an hour to get her house because they were lost. (Because they were drinking) I didnt know what to do. My other two friends that were already at the house that don't drink didnt seem like they thought it was that big of a deal. In fact they thought it was quite funny. But the more I think about it your supposed to call 911 if you even see a drunk driver. I don't know how much they had been drinking but from what I heard later it was enough to make them really spaced and giggly. It makes me so mad cuz they could get killed or kill an innocent person in a crash but they just don't care. I'm not that close with them, but how can I get them to stop doing this? It's really scary to me.

Maybe just point out the facts. If they don't care about themselves, then point out that it's probably not ven going to be them that dies, but rather the other person who was sober. Mention the jail sentence too

Tell them that you heard they where going to put up DUI checking points in the area( it's like a license check but their looking for people under the influence ) I have a problem with this just like you do because of no one caring enough about them selves or others and life can be taken in a few drinks and making bad decisions. You are suppose to call 911 when you see a driver that is under the influence and if you did it I would commend you for it. While the other who think it's funny hasn't lost a family member or a close friend to a drunk driver they are driving in and don't have respect for others life and it's all a party and fun. If they end up in jail it could be the best thing for them at least it want be a funeral for them or some one else that was innocent. I think the penalty for this offense is 1 year suspended drivers license's and they have to pay for a drug assessment and go to classes, If they get driving privileges there is a time frame to work and back. Plus 1800 dollars for 6 months of insurance. You may want to tell the penalties and she if that helps. I doubt it will being they think it's funny. I would call the police on them if you know for a fact they are drunk and driving. If someone would have done this instead of making excuses, maybe my brother would be alive.

I am an older woman who is offering this advice so I may not be "with it" but here I go- start looking in your local and the national newspapers for any articles that refer to Drunk Driving and someone who was killed or maimed because of it- then tape it into a sort of quick scrap book and everyday leave it for them to see- with a note saying " Hey this could have been you!" and if they get mad tell them you'd rather them be mad at you for this than to not be around to BE mad at you!

They should think about the innocent people who are driving out with them!!!!
Hey.... if they want to be stupid and drive drunk - more power to them..... BUT..... what if they KILL someone because they were out driving drunk?????????????????????
it's not going to be so funny once they are facing murder charges for driving under the influence!!!!
if anything.... tell them that a DUI costs now like over $1,000..... here in california at least....
it's not even worth it!!!!
dude.... every time i see a drunk driver i make sure i call the police.... i don't want to die because the idiot in front of me or behind me is irresponsible and careless!

Your a smart girl.Dont hang around these people especially if you will be without a ride because you definately shouldnt be driving with them.You could call them in annonomously,,I wouldnt usually say to call on someone but you are so right,,they could kill someone or themselves so accually you would be doing them a favor & some innocent people as well.

you should have call 911 no one should drink and drive they could hurt them selfs and other but making **** up mistakes, yes that up sets me to cause they don't think about others when drinking and driving but them selfs, just tell your friends it's not a funny matter i don't think they would thinks it's funny if they kill one of their friends or some one else, so they should think twice about drinking and driving before they make the biggest mistake of the lives.

anytime they start drinking and your around take there keys...espeacilly wen they start acting gigly or goffy crazy they'd neva rember they gav them to you
