Jayaraman gave you the right answer. The current president is Abdoulaye Wade, he was first elected in 2000, after 29 years in the opposition. Elections were held in Senegal last February 25, and although the official results have not yet been published by the Supreme Court, it appears according to the press that he is ahead of his opponents (whether we like it or not)... If this is confirmed by the Supreme court, he will be president for another 7 years again. He is 84 years old though!
