i have a small table top pc with ME on it and it lights up the light on the flash sticks but doesn't regfister them in the my computer area.

it doesn't know it's there. run the new hardware tool to get it recognized.

There are several issues related to this
1) The Operating System ur using don't support your Flash memory stick. I know that ME supports most of the USB's. Might be it will work with Windows XP.
2) As far as win98/ME is concerned it supports USB(1.1) so might be ur USB is (2.0) so that is why it wont recognize it
3) Download the suitable driver for that stick. you can download it from here.

the memory stick may only work with USB 2.0 technology and your usb port may only be 1,1 technology.....you may have to upgrade your port or your usb stick to be compatible with 1.1
