In response to a question, I am asking for conservatives, Republican or otherwise. I just think some people think Conervatives = Republicans

I would say three people who solidly represent modern concervatism in this country are Walter Williams, William Buckley, and the late Milton Freedman.

If you're asking for conservatives who AREN'T republicans, that pretty much only leaves libertarians. Michael Badnarik, and the late Harry Browne, come to mind. Also, though he's technically in the republican party, Ron Paul is basically an independant, who made a deal with the republicans to vote with them on procedural items, in exchange for the committee positions that a normal republican would get. Dr. Paul is the closest to how I would define what a conservative should be.
