e you breast feeding? If you are it might be due to something you ate. Try thinking back to what you ate. Some common foods that can lead to diarrhea are milk, eggs, prunes, and cabbage. A two months’ old digestive system is not yet fully developed and a variety of foods can cause diarrhea. There is no medicine that is safe for such a small baby, but there are a few things that you can do. Try eating boiled rice or boiled potatoes. Do not give your little one water, water can increase diarrhea, the last thing you baby needs right now is a diluter (our ped said that). To make sure that your baby does not dehydrate feed him more often. First signs of dehydration are dry lips and lack of saliva, followed by a sunken soft spot.
If you are formula feeding think whether you changed the water type with which you mix formula or did you change the formula? These changes can cause diarrhea. There is nothing you could do except to get back to what you were doing before and wait to make changes later when the baby is older.
My little girl has had diarrhea since she was 1.5 month, she is now 4 month old and still has it. There is something in my breast milk that disturbs her stomach, but after evaluating the benefits of breastfeeding we and our ped decided that it was best to continue. She is gaining weight and I just have to use powder and Desitin so that she does not get diaper rash. It is important to wash the baby’s behind well after diarrhea as it can badly irritate sensitive skin. Good luck to you and don’t worry every baby now and then has diarrhea.

With your baby being so young, the best thing is to take him/her to your Dr. or clinic. When my daughter was an infant, she caught some infection that was going around town, and the Dr. ordered that I take her off her normal diet and feed her pedialyte so she would not get dehydrated. I'm not saying that's what's wrong with your baby, but be sure to give them water too, during the day so that the baby doesn't become dehydrated... and at least speak to the baby's Dr. Don't attempt to "cure" it until they can tell you what the problem is and how to handle it.

NO water for a baby that young. Call your doctor on the emergency number and they will tell you what to do. They are there for your 24 hours a day. Don't feel bad. They understand.

Call your pediatrician. Being that young I'm not sure what the treatment would be. Most of the time you just give pedialyte and let it run its course unless they have a high fever. Call your Pediatric an on call and see what they say! good luck

I know this is a great site to ask questions and answer questions but when it comes to a 2 month old with the runs - you need to get the kid to the doctor NOT mess around on this site looking for answers!

You should go to emergency. She could be or may already be dehydrated. Are her fontanels sunken? Are her lips/mucous membranes dry?
If you have any pedialyte you could also give her that in a bottle to replenish electrolytes. Also, offer lots of fluids (breast milk or formula). Good luck!

2 months is too soon for actual diarrhea. their poop can vary A LOT when they are younger (before solid foods). call your doctor if it doesn't go back to "clumpy-mustard" in a day or 2.

Give her as much water as you can get her to take and call her pediatrician as soon as you can.
