Racial tension in America always seems to increase every time Americans elect a Democratic President. There are a lot of liberals living in California. Many of them seem to dislike immigrants from Mexico. Many of the people in the South that took pride in the Confederate Flag were white liberals that hated African-Americans. Racism was much worse when Bill Clinton was President. The beating of Rodney King was proof of that. Why is it always worse when Americans have a Democratic President?

Meathook, White liberals didn't do anything to improve racial equality in the South. There was a civil war in America because of white liberals. Democrats in the South started the Civil War because they didn't want to end slavery. You don't know what you're talking about. And most of the immigrants from Mexico are getting jobs when they come to California. You are the nut.

My theory is that there are less racially motivated crimes when there is a Republican President because Republicans spend more on the police and the military, but I'm sure liberals have their own theories. That's why I asked this question.

Michael E, I don't care if you do wave the Confederate Flag. Just keep in mind that Democratic slave owners made that flag for you. I certainly would not take pride in waving it. I'm really interested in knowing why there are less racially motivated crimes during a Republican Presidency. I may have answered my own question earlier. I think the overall crime rate drops because Republicans spend more money on the military and the police.

Racism does not come and go based on a 4 year or 8 year election cycle.

Fortunately the trend is less and less of it over the long term.

Certainly some politicians for their own reasons wish to maximize or minimize the press coverage it gets. Occasional big events bring it back to attention but the causes of such events such as riots cant be tied to short term policies of the last few years in nearly all cases.

You are a nut.
1) The people of California dislike ILLEGAL Immigrants. This is not racism but a desire to not extend benefits to those who do not qualify for them and limit the drain on the social service agencies of the state.
2) White Liberal in the South fought for racial equality(and I'm sure some Conservatives). They are not the KKK as you would suggest.
3) Rodney King had nothing to do with the Federal Government, but rather the corrupt practices of one local police agency which still has issues with race. How do you equate the beating of Rodney King by LAPD and the fact that Clinton was in office? Did he issue a decree to tell all local police agencies to hammer any uppity brothers they take into custody?

I don't think your an idiot like most of the trolls on here, but you need to learn some history. Go back and get some perspective.

Conservative Republican here.

African Americans have been singled out and beaten for decades no matter WHO is President...don't think that Rodney King is any kind of landmark incident..

The reason why illegal immigrants are disliked is mostly financial...as in how much money we are paying for their free health care, education, etc. And all the while they send 100s of millions of dollars back to Mexico. This is money, that if earned by an American citizen, would be poured back into our own economy...

Again, illegals have been crossing over for many, many years, regardless of who is President....This is a very HOT issue right now...and their is a Republican President in office the last time I looked....

Check your history, bub. The South didn't start the war. Y'all invaded us. Southern States withdrew from the Union legally because they had no voice in the government trying to control them, a government which had already begun to overstep the authority it had been given.

Enslavement was not the Southern Cause. Only the wealthiest Southerners owned slaves. My family wasn't among them, yet they fought and died in the Confederate Army to defend their homes from Northern aggression. I fly the Confederate Battle Flag in their honor. Try opening a history book before spouting your baseless accusations about my family and our way of life.

Edit: Well if you're simply looking for people to agree with your theory: I don't.

I fail to see what Clinton had to do with Rodney King. The sheriffs probably like most law enforcement people seem to be were most likely Republicans.

Now, of course we can project your argument lots of ways:
1. Why was Martin Luther King killed during LBJ's presidency?
2. OJ murdered his wife during Clinton's term.
3. He was also acquitted during Clinton's term.
4. Malcolm X was also murdered during Johnson's administration.

Makes you think, eh? Both King and Malcolm X murdered during LBJ's term?

Oh yeah, Cesar Chavez, the Mexican American civil rights leader, died during Clinton's term. Sounds very mysterious to me...
