No, I wouldn't tolerate that kind of behavior, and you shouldn't either. If you are in a relationship with someone who doesn't respect and love you, it will only damage you. You deserve more than that. We all do.

I have actually been in a relationship where I've made my (at the time) significant other feel worthless. It's a jedi mind trick that people use to obscure their own insecurities. I made my ex-girl feel worthless so that she would never feel good enough about herself to leave me. It was terrible for her. It's not that I truly felt that way, it's just that I did not feel good enough about myself and I feared thet I'd lose her if she ever felt better than me. I no longer treat anybody that way because I'm older and smarter, and you should know that if somebody you know is being treated that way, then you should keep this yahoo answer in mind.

NO.....But I am one of those that did that very thing to my wife for years.....At first I thought I was "Paying her back". I was only trying to make myself feel better by mistreating her.I snapped out of my shell one day and realized I almost lost the one person I never want to be without......My wife of 16 years and BEST freind I'll probably ever have.Never feel worthless, somebody treasures you even if it's mom or dad or that someone that hopes your man will keep slippin'.........see what I mean...SMILE kid you ARE worth more than silver or gold!!!

All the losers I have ever dated did.
That's why I have given up and I will be single for the rest of my life.
I may end up old and with no family and be the cat lady that the neighborhood kids are afraid of, but it's better than getting degraded on a daily basis. At least I'd probably be happier.

Yup - he wouldnt get up to give me a good night kiss without making me feel "too demanding" but he got up to get his dog a cookie every time the pooch took a piss.
And then he forgot to get me a valentines day card..so I havent seen him in a week or so.

Sadly yeah, more than once. They feel worthless so they figure you may as well feel as shitty as they do. Up to you to decide if its worth it or if you can ignore the constant beratement and feeling belittled.

No and I hope you don't either. If someone doesn't make you feel special then kick them to the curb immediately. You deserve better than that.

I am in that type of relationship now, but I don't pay any attention to him because I know he would not survive if I wasn't here!

Its a sad thing and happens way too often. People do this to feel better about themselves. You should not have to put up with it, kick him to the curb, he does not deserve you.
