How many Tutsi people died?
Hutus were targeting all Tutsis, but why did they focus a lot of attention on the Tutsi children?
What was meant in the statement: "If people see this footage, they'll go, 'Oh My God! , Thats horrible!' then go on eating their dinner."?

I read Paul Rusesabagina's book, and I thought the film accurately portrayed his story. It did downplay the full scope of the genocide in Rwanda, but people would have passed out or broken down if they tried to tell the full story.

The book is called "An Ordinary Man." It's a fascinating story and well worth reading.

The full extent of the genocide will probably never be known. At minimum, 500,000, although many estimates are 800,000 to one million.

I believe the focus on the children was for dramatic effect.

The statement means precisely what it says. Most Americans saw the footage, said "what a horrible thing" and then changed over to Seinfeld or the baseball game. I consider the US failure to intervene in Rwanda as the single greatest disgrace of the Clinton Administration. We could have saved thousands (probably tens of thousands) of lives, and didn't step in to help.

It makes me sick that stuff happens in the world like that and nobody steps in to do anything because of 'laws'. Law should not hold back any nation from saving lives, in cases of mass genocide at least... but we somehow justify it, even by our governmental actions (or lack of).
