What would be the first thing you legislated to make your country better?

Can you be bipartisan?

I have run for office before, the U.S. Senate in 2004 and the Congress in 2006. I quit the Republican Party in disgust after the 2006 primary. They accused me of being too "librul". I think it was because I supported ALL of the Bill of Rights, and not just the Second Amendment.

There are those who have encouraged me to run again. I think I can be bipartisan. Using truth, sanity, and common sense is a great way to make both major parties angry.

Besides dealing with the war, my top priority would be to help bring about the Fair Tax.

Let me know if you think I should try again.

In all seriousness, I've wanted to run for public office since I was a kid. Right now is not the time for me (I choose to be a stay-at-home-mom.), but maybe one day, who knows.

As to what would be the first thing I'd legislate...well, that would depend on the issues at hand and on what office I'm running for and when.

At the national level : NEVER.

At the state level: maybe.

At the local level: I would definitely like to.

Frankly, national politics is far too partisan and nothing ever gets done to help the average person in this country. All the real work happens at the state and local levels, where parties MUST work together to accomplish a positive outcome for their citizens.
