Vampires are said to be dead people who are reanimated for a while by a demonic spirit. The myth is that they drink blood to accomplish this because how else could they pull it off? However, in the ancient legends, they might not have a body at all, just the demon. The demon is said to cause trouble, but be powerless until he can find a freshly dead person to inhabit. For this reason, the bodies are sometimes dug up and nailed down to keep them from rising.

Since the vampires are supposed to be demons, they are said to be able to take on any form, including that of a werewolf, wolf, smoke, etc. Modern vampires can take on the form (in other words, not just the appearance) of a bat or wolf, or werewolf.

Werewolves take on two forms, possibly a third form.

he first one is the lunatic, the person who thinks that they are an animal. The growling, noises, and antics often making others think that the person thinks that they are a wolf, especially if they are crawling around on the ground.

The second form is when a person gets possessed by a demon and is given the power to transform into an animal. The transformation is never complete. From this you get the "were-" beings, the man animals. One of the most popular being the werewolf. This called therianthropy.

The third form is described exactly like bigfoot, a wild, hairy human, that walks on two-legs. This third form is supposed to be without any kind of transformation and is said to be a real creature.

Personally, I believe that there is no such thing as real vampires or werewolves. No evidence that they exist, so any differences are merely in legend or myth. Sure there are crazy people out there. They might act like animals or drink blood, but they are just insane or disturbed, not mythical creatures.

A big wolf killing someone might be mistaken for a werewolf. If you look at the tracks of a dog in the snow, sometimes when they melt and the snow is at a certain depth, they will leave an extended little "trench" behind the print. If this melts together, it can look like a half-human, half-wolf print. While I have witnessed this myself, as a child I never thought "werewolf". There maybe other explanations, all of which I believe are very mundane.

I do believe in demonic possession, and if you run across a demonically possessed person, you might wander if you are looking at a person or an animal, not by appearance, but by the way they are acting. Even these cases I must wonder how much is just an act.

If you have watched some horror movies with vampires, you will see that Vampires and Werewolves are closely related. In the movie "Dracula", you will hear the sound of wolves. Dracula states, "Children of the night, what music they make". In the movie "Fright Night" back in the 80's, When the Vampire bit the guy named Evil once he became a werewolf, not a Vampire. Then later the movie "Fright Night 2" movie one of her guardians was a werewolf. Using this as evidence, I believe in my opinion that maybe werewolves all originated back to Dracula the first known Vampire.

The difference between them is very noticeable. Vampires are people with stolen souls and werewolves are people who are creatures that corresponds with animal, mainly wolves. Yes, both drink blood, but werewolves also eat the meat. Werewolves are people with a curse. That is what I think.

A werewolf (also lycanthrope or wolfman) in folklore is a person who shapeshifts into a wolf or wolflike creature, either purposely, by using magic, or after being placed under a curse. They are said to be immortal.[citation needed] The medieval chronicler Gervase of Tilbury associated the transformation with the appearance of the full moon, but this concept was rarely associated with the werewolf until the idea was picked up by fiction writers. In popular culture, a werewolf can be killed if shot by a silver bullet, although this was not a feature of the folk legends.

Vampires (sometimes vampyres) are mythological or folkloric creatures believed to be the re-animated corpses of human beings who subsist on human or animal blood. In folklore, the term usually refers to the blood-drinking humans of Eastern European legends, but it is often extended to cover similar legendary creatures from other regions and cultures. The characteristics of vampires vary widely between these different traditions. Some cultures also have stories of non-human vampires, including real animals such as bats, dogs, spiders, and mythical creatures such as the chupacabra.

Vampires are a frequent subject of fictional books and films, although fictional vampires are often attributed traits distinct from those of folkloric vampires.

The term vampire is also used to more generally refer to mythical or fictional creatures that drain power, energy, or life from unwilling victims. Creatures who act in this manner are often considered part of the vampire archetype, even if they do not consume blood.

Vampirism is the practice of drinking blood from a person or animal. In folklore and popular culture, the term refers to a belief that one can gain supernatural powers by drinking human blood. The historical practice of vampirism can generally be considered a more specific and less commonly occurring form of cannibalism. The consumption of another's blood (or flesh) has been used as a tactic of psychological warfare intended to terrorize the enemy, and can be used to reflect various spiritual beliefs.

Werewolves are carnivorous animals and vampires don't have to eat the meat of their prey to live. All they need is blood.

Werewolves (and all were beings) are limited xenomorphs in that they can only change between two different shapes. Vampyres (correct spelling) are more accomplished xenomorphs in that they can change between at least four different shapes.
