Why do my shoe laces kepp coming undone?

I always double knot, and not 5 minutes later on the way to work they come undone! I have a 15-20 min. walk to work and my laces come undone no less that 3 times, at least once for each foot. Yesterday, my right shoe lace came undone 5x in 3 hours! Is there a reason for this? And yes I always double knot so that's why I can't understand why they come untied.

it also happens w/ my cotton laces, and i do tie them tightly. that's why i finally put this dumb question up. i've had it! this has been happening for almost 2years.

you could be using laces which are made of some synthetic which slips away easily and does not provide much grip. Try getting cotton shoe laces.

It is the shoe strings, as they are made out of different material. Usually the all cotton, will stay tied while other materials will not remain tied for very long. As I have some shoe strings that do the same, so I finally gave in and purchased some all cotton strings. It happens with a lot of other materials and with a lot of us who wear shoe laces.
