It's $2.00 to get in. Fine with that.

If I buy an A/C compressor I'm charged for the clutch, the compressor and a core charge on top of it all. Total price $80.00 which is still substantially cheaper then paying $350 for a rebuilt one. But who would take the time to remove the clutch off an A/C compressor?

still sepeate part of the opperating system, when bought new, about 90% of them don't have the clutch. Also, the core charge you get back, IF you return the old one. That is what a core charge is, they want the old parts for remanufacturing. By law, any place that sells parts, must have a core charge for reclycling purposes, the $2 to get in, or what ever it costs is for environmental fees.

Also, they have to make a living too. $80 VS $350, Find it cheaper, its not happening. It could be worse. My truck is a 1989 year modle and most parts for it have been discontinued. Salvage yards are my only option, and if i buy a seat and get charged for the tracks, then so be it. It saved me money in the long run from having to track them down from LMC, or E-bay, or even Summit. If you don't want to pay for the cluthc, remove it, and then pay, easy solution.

To get the core charge back, bring back the old item for the core charge return, they do that so people will be enticed to bring the old part back, so it can be remanufactured or rebuilt. Without it, most people would jsut throw it away and not think about it afterwords. Its helping the envoronment by keeping garbage out of the landfills, and its helping by supplying cheaper cost parts.

They charge you if you want them to take a part off for you. And its an hourly charge, however long it takes them. Um, it could be about 35-40 dollars where I live. But, certain places charge for just the part. But if there are other parts in there, they will charge you for it also. So, it will take them longer if you want just one part.... Do go to alot of different junk yards...In alot of cases, its almost the same thing,...thats why...

first off i wouldn't pay to get in to one, second i wouldn't pay for separate parts ,i either buy the whole thing together or i don't buy it at all,i think the policy on paying to get in to it,is wrong, when it comes to getting in,i wouldn't pay nothing, and if you remove the clutch from an air compressor you totally ruin the the front seal for it,and these aren't that easy to put back in,so i think they shouldn't charge for that.good luck i hope this help,s.
