Most of the songs from Linkin Park will have you listening for hours. Also Avenged Sevenfold have a twist of heavy metal and rock in their music (that's what I've heard at least). People really like their song Bat Country.

PANTERA. They are groove metal.
Some great songs are, Cowboys from Hell.. great guitar playing
um. Cemetery Gates-awesome solo, The Sleep-awesome solo
This Love- Cool song, 5 minutes alone, Revolution is My Name, and the list is way too long.

nickleback is the best alternative rock band ever but for harder stuff i like godsmack and the song coming undone by korn is great also alot of ppl like buckcherry (i dont but thats just me)

Daughtry's "I's Not Over" and "What I Want" (with Slash). It's hard to believe this guy came from american Idol
