1. The deer, the Japanese word for deer is called "Shika". I like deer for its graceful, feminine beauty and masculine strength. You could say the deer has a combination of both. Also they are gentle and agile, fast runner, and blends artistically into the woodland, flowers and mountains and rivers.

2. The second animal would be a falcon. The Japanese word for Falcon is "Hayabusa". I like it because a famous brand of motor cycle is named after it (^__^) Hayabusa is just a cool name for a bird that soars so freely in a sky so blue. Falcon trainers in ancient times have very close relationship with their bird.

3. Dolphin, 'Iruka' in Japanese. It is highly intelligent and docile, friendly to humans, and a fantastic swimmer. The ocean would not be the same without them. Dolphins are gorgeous--I have a couple of dolphin pendants and surfer dolphin charm gotten from Florida at Daytona Beach. Also in Naruto the anime, in the ninja academy there is an instructor called 'Umino Iruka'. Umino for Ocean wild, and iruka for Dolphin! It's a good name!

Considering the way animals are treated in today's culture, I'm not too sure I would want to be one.

I run an animal rescue. I work with the abused, neglected, and otherwise uncared for animals that need help. Dogs, cats, it makes no difference.......in today's society, we, as humans, have the general mentality that animals are inferior, instead of the brilliant and loving creatures that not only deserve, but have earned, our respect and appreciation.

Until the laws in this country are actually upheld to protect them, I will do my part. But to be an animal in today's society? I don't think I would survive.

I'd like to be a whale. Maybe a bowhead whale or some other type of whale like a sperm whale. I would not want to encounter any killer whales though. Hopefully I have some long-range radar sensory equipment I can use to detect them before they detect me and steer clear. Or my elders taught me where they frequently are and avoid those areas all together. They live like 200 years so that ain't bad!
