Health care. People are losing their homes, their kids are not getting educated, and they have to accept substandard care because they can't afford the health care industry's profit margins. Second only to the oil companies last year.

The republican plan is: Don't Get Sick.

The failure (since Reagan) of the Federal Government to protect the economic and industrial base of the United States of America with the use of Tariff's on deficit causing imports.

Our nation has been under a relentless attack for almost 25 years, with both Republicans and Democrats not only failing to address the issue, but actually exacerbating the problem. Job loss and Industrial facility relocation outside the U.S. are the symptoms, not the problem. The problem is failure by Congress and the Executive branches of the Federal Government to govern our people. They no longer serve public interest, they serve corporate interest, and the corporate conglomerates they serve are the weapons our enemies are using to destroy the United States of America.

I only wish someone in power would acknowledge the problem and try and fix it. The solution is obvious, "tariffs".

Education is by far the most crucial social issue facing this nation. If everyone in this country were to receive a quality education, many of the other social problems would be eradicated.

This is a good question. I don't even know what you would call it. Job loss in america. Manufacturing company's in america are at an all time low. Manufacturing company's like welders and so on. People are led to believe in school and elswhere that jobs like these are not well paying, when in fact they are and some times beter paying. Manufactures can not find employees. They pay for training and offer 401k benefeits and everything. Manufacturing job's are a keystone to our country's economy. There are others like global warming and violence with gun use. I feel this issue is a slow killer. This is leading to companys closing and people losing jobs because the companys can not keep up with the demand for a lack of employees. Bids are going to company's in other country's like china and mexico. Manufacturing is a staple to the american economy.

Health Care (including retirement) is our most pressing issue, and is growing more important as prices go up, and insurance and pensions are cut from average Americans' compensation packages. Most of us are one or two paychecks away from the street, and fewer and fewer of us have insurance, and what we do have covers less and less.

We pay the most of any people in the world for our medical care, and while the very best care in the world IS available here, the average care we actually receive is 27th-best in the world. This is but the crassest of many examples of the profit-before-people mentality that will be our downfall.

I can't say which is the most crucial, but I do know of some important ones. Like:
1. Shooting down this horrible bid for universal health care
2. Getting lazy slobs that are capable of work off welfare
3. Get rid of the illegal immigrants, and give their jobs to the lazy welfare recipients
4. Privatize social security. I can invest my money better than the government every will for me.
5. Pull the plug on all this politically correct crap!
6. Better education, I totally disagree with Bush's "No child left behind". Why slow down the learning of all the other children for a few stupid ones!
7. Harsher penalties for criminals committing terrible crimes, especially repeat offenders!

Illegal Immigration is the most important social issue of our time. We have 11-15 million illegal aliens in our country of 300 million people. That is as much as 5% of the total population. In todays age of international terrorism, if one half of 1% of that number have terroristic motives, then that means that their are conservatively 50,000 illegal aliens with terroristic motives in this country. It only took less than one dozen terrorists to pull of 9/11!!! Illegal aliens believe that they are entitled to the same rights that natural born citizens are entitled to. This needs to be made very clear that this is false. They are not entitled to free medical care (most US Citizens have to pay for their own medical care). They are not entitled to government benifits such as Social Security. They are not entitled to free schooling. They are not entitled to free legal representation. They are entitled to be deported and set right back to their originating country. If the USA expects to ever have the world governments become more democratic, then we must make their citizens deal with the problems in their own countries. Their will never be a democratic Cuba if we keep taking all of the Cuban refugies who do not like Castro. Their will never be economic reform in Mexico if we keep turning a blind eye to all those who come illegally from Mexico in search of a better life. They need to work for a better life for themselves in their home country or go through the Legal Process to become Naturalized US CItizens. Anything less is a slap in the face of all those who Legally Immigrated into this great country. Yes this is a country of Immigrants, but it is a country of LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Lets reward those who work within the laws and deport those who work outside the laws.

The biggest social issue in the US, in my opinion, is fatherlessness. Our culture is catering to the whims of men. And children are suffering without fathers. And it shows.
