Do you mean the most Important social issue? IMHO its education. We need to stop dumbing down the expectations of our kids when they move through the school system.

I'd have to say the most destructive social issue in this country is the idea that the government should be involved in social issues at all. The Constitution says the federal government can defend the borders, run a postal service, and give out patents. That's about it. They have no authority to tell us how to live our lives, as long as we're not hurting anyone else.
As Dennis Leary said:
"I want to smoke Cuban cigars the size of Cincinnati in the nonsmoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-O all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I might suddenly feel the need to. Okay, pal?"

National Health Care--all hail Answerman!! Any plan that cuts into the profits of the Pharmacuetical lobby and other Big Business interests that write their own legislation needs to be challenged.

Education--Blaming our teachers and their union on the dumming down of our Children is proposterous!! Just because rich folk wanna tax break to help fund their segregation from the rest of us--our teachers are under fire. Education is what bridges the gap between rich and poor--something the Elite's don't want. Defunding our gov't by an onslaught of ill-conceived laws and policies is at the heart of their philosophy.

We need to end political correctness and give america back to americans.

Political correctness does not create a more tolerant society. It creates a society of people secretly consumed by resentment because one honest slip of the tongue can earn them a label as an intolerant boob. Political correctness limits speech and creates hatred where none existed in the first place.

Universal Health Care, from the stand point of how much hidden cost is involved and the misinformation from the Insurance lobby. The CEO of G.M. has said that $1500 of every new car sold is the cost of providing health care coverage to its employees and their retiree's, I would assume that this can be extended to many other industry's and one of the main reasons why many company's are closing the doors and moving off shore. It has simply became to expensive. The U.S ranks number one it the cost of health care in the entire world, yet it ranks 14 in quality of care according to the W.H.O., part of this is because 47 million people in the U.S. is without access to affordable health care. I know there are many that are misinformed about socialized medicine mainly by the powerful insurance lobby. The only way to change this is through education of he people that are opposed to it.

I'm torn between two. Abortion and gay marriage.

But if you use the theory that abortion isn't a social issue, its just plain killing a child... then gay marriage is left and i see no problem with it. They are in love and aren't hurting anyone.
