Today we are just too interested in the lives of others, be it stars, politicians, "reality shows" etc., and the freakier the better. But why? Punks, head-bangers, insect eaters, tatoo laden folk, neo-Nazis, crazy stunt makers, all look very freaky, yet they are all fascinating to us. Are they the freak shows of today? What do you think.

Being fascinated in "freaks" and other people that go beyond the norms, I can understand, but why anyone would be interested in the lives of paris hilton and britney spears, I cannot.

Yes, Hollywood is becoming that way to us, I think......For example, someone named brittney spears shaved her head recently, but not too long ago said something political.
How can anyone take her seriously now? If she was in the trapeze act, then ok, but she has since dramatically shown us she is definately in the clown act......
The same way for any "hollywood star" to say anything of political importance, they have no worth saying what they do. They are a bunch of pure bread alpo dogs that say what their drug dealer tells them to......otherwise their agent, or whatever.....who knows what influences these "hollywood stars" to even think they have the education about politics or economics or even held a job as a manager at Mc Don.???
Its incredible to me, but it is becoming even less incredible to the American People, these are the ones you like to hear about, but not live around.....

Because life has gone down the drain. We're not as social as we used to be. For example, instead of spending time with friends and family, we're on the internet. Boredom can bring the mind to the gutter and we are in that gutter.

I think it is the shock value or maybe it is just that the media tends to make such a big thing of it people think it is abnormal not to watch the trash the media puts out.

No, but my neighbors are freaks, the mother has sex and a kid with her ugly son, and they all live on the same land. It's NASTY! She's got 6 kids and all the boys are sexual perverts, big surprise.
I don't watch TV and I don't care about celebrities.

i get interested because is exposed, sometimes we can see some of the things they do just to be entertained or sometimes also because some news, show some real life novels.

Because we don't live a life we consider exciting enough so we live our lives thru others.
