Yes, 90% of their owners. MOST owners were NOT the beaters and the rapist that you see in TV and Movies. that is Liberal hollywoods way of stirring up hate.

The Quakers helped free many slaves by being a part of the Underground Railroad. They gave many run-a-way slaves jobs and helped them build a stable life with their new found freedom. Although, they were against slavery they did believe African Americans were inferior to white people.

Of course. The ones who went all out were called abolitionists. And the whole north side of America was generally condemned slavery. The Civil War was also partly based on slavery, because America virtually split into two halves, a north and a south due to these beliefs. The south had it bad, they were the main states that enforced slavery in order to work their plantations.

Go out to google and ggogle John Brown the abolishonist, not John Brown the king of the burbs now...;-)
Also google the abolishonist movement in the 1800's and the Movie Glory with Denzel Washington and mathew Broderick.
With that being said, I appreciate you at least trying to educate yourself on this important American history but I have to ask... are white teachers in white schools teaching you kids anything about American History let alone black history!
Geesh!

I have no reference but of course there were whites who helped free slaves and protected them, fed them, transported them to safety in the Underground Railroad.
