not to insult italians, but people use their heritage (upbringing, nationality, situation, social class) as a crutch all the time. is our heritage really a reason for faulty behavior ("i can't help my temper, i'm italian?") or a free pass for it? ("i can get angry because i'm an italian") can we overcome it? how?

None of the two !! I can't believe there is still people who thinks that somebody can have (or suppose to have) the license to be angry just depending on his heritage. I'm Italian and I'm basically very calm, not at all becoming angry (while I'm very easily... hungry) , let's say in the average of other friends I've and that are Americans, Dutch, German or French.
The rage, my friend, is not the exclusive patrimony of only one people (in the specific of Italians) but unfortunately is belonging to the whole human race...!!

These are stereotypes. Some believe that stereotypes are based on some bit of reality,
However, one can never legitimately generalize about any group. The generalization never holds up under scrutiny.
Generalizations are illogical.

Yes, bsjoker, those are stereotypes (people can stereotype themselves, you know). And the idea of the angry Italian is what's called a stereotype.
Perhaps your just bs-ing and joking?

1. Anger is not related to heritage, it is related to ego .
2.Egoistic person suffers from inferiority complex and he/she wants to make himself/herself superior among their collegues and if his/her desire to feel superiority is not fullfilled then anger bursts from inside.
3.Here question arises ,why anger is hidden and accumulated inside us ! This is the mystery of life and one who knows this gets out of this anger and whole enegy of anger is converted into compassion.
