My son does. He is 13 and in 7th. He is doing 9th grade math and 11th reading. because of this he does not fit in as well as he would like. He is not in to sports. He would rather read, work on the computer or play video games. Yeah I know he's a weird kid, but like I tell him, "He's MY weird kid". It is easier for him in school here than it would be other places. At least here he is allowed and even encouraged to excel and can go into classes he is ready for and not be forced to stay with the kids his age. He is not popular, but he is well known. The kids do ask for his help with assignments they don't understand. As long as they are nice to him, he is willing to help. Some have learned not to tease him about his brain, because he will not help them if they have. That is about his only revenge for being picked on. He will not report it, even though the school says they have a zero tolerance for teasing, for fear of making it worse.
The principle likes having him there because according to him, it raises the average score of the entire class. He consistently scores in the 98-99 percentile range on state tests and funding is based on average score.
Hope this was what you were looking for.

I don't get picked on. I'm in college, which is probably why. But when I was in grade school I didn't either. I was never too fat or ugly. I wasn't weird in any way. I just really minded my own business. I was shy, but not one of those weird shy people. *shrug* I hope I helped:-)
