I'm flying to Cuba and need to make a stopover on Nassau. Is it worth staying there a few extra days? Is there any reasonably priced accommodation?

Here are a couple of links on what passes for reasonably priced accommodation in Nassau. http://www.accomline.com/hotels.reservations/Nassau.htmI

I enjoyed being in Nassau and visiting the lovely Colonial style buildings and travelling around the island on the circular bus where you pay (unless the price has gone up recently) $1 irrespective of where you get on and off. Perhaps a couple of days would be enough to get a feel of the place. http://www.10best.com/Nassau/

Nassau is a nice, fun place. I would recommend staying at the Nassau Beach Hotel. It's a three star resort but it's the cheapest oceanfront resort on Cable Beach (about $100 a night). The Wyndham is next door and your allowed full access to their resort. The Wyndham is very nice but more expensive (about $180 a night). If you are able to stay for a few days, I would take a booze cruise, check out paradise island, and visit the straw market.

Have Fun!

I would head for Cuba as soon as possible unless time is not a factor for you. Nassau is VERY flat and really, not anywhere near as exciting as Cuba. Drinking can be done anywhere, you do not need to stay extra days in Nassau just for that.
