Some times they are used together on the same piece. Just like having white and yellow gold together, they can look very nice.

Yes, when done tastefully it can be very cute, silver and gold compliment each other.
This is best done when accenting an outfit, however, not the entire outfit itself, aka dont wear a gold shirt with a silver skirt, it's too much. But a gold bracelet and a silver bag is ok, small accents like that. But dont let society telly ou how to dress, if you think it's cute..wear it!

There really are no rules anymore when it comes to jewelry (think sapphire engagement rings). I say go for it. I do it occasionally and am a tad self-conscious, since I'm a former matcher, but I see so many people doing it. I agree with the others though - don't overdo it!! Next thing you know you'll be starting a new trend in your circle!!

Hey! Glad you asked that question. People have some very old fashioned visions of how to wear jewelry but let me tell you, mixed metals are really coming into its own this season. You will begin to see individual pieces with both gold and silver. I'm including a link to one such look.

eww. i wouldnt. but trends are trends thats what there for. so when your my age and you look back you can go.
" What am i wearing?" Did i really wear my sweatshirt inside out? Or sandles with a flannel shirt. Or gold with silver.

if you mix them correctly. i don't do it, but if i did, i'd try to incorporate one piece (watch, necklace) that had both silver and gold.
