Wow. Marriage is NOT a burden.

It's a guarantee they won't leave us with the burden of a broken heart...

Marriage is more than sex or companionship. Marriage is what God wants. And it's a very strong bond of love. There's no burden with that. It's someone who will always be there for you till the day you die. It's nice having someone to share your life with, have kids, grow old with, etc.

If that is the case, why good friends for sex or companionship - other methods of gratifications are at your disposal. Gentleman, marriage is all about commitments, a sense of sharing and caring. It is a channel for propagating good social and moral values for generations.
If marriage is a burden, it is a cinch a good friendship would be an even bigger burden to carry. Man being a social animal has to pay a cost for his happiness and looks for a soul mate to share his moments of happiness and sadness. The so called good friends turn out to be fair weather friends, after all - tell me how you would like to hang around people who feel so miserable, I am sure you will run miles away from such people. I guess the best of the friends may do it at times. But marriage is an institution where the couple take a vow to live and support each other through the thick and thin :-)

PS: There is an uninhabited island that I know - can live there all alone :-) and none would burden you ever.

Marriage if for the right reasons is a different type of a commitment with someone other then just having sex and being good friends. It also protects you. Say for instance that you are living with someone and you both are investing in your home, furnishings, vehicle , etc. If one of you pass away, it will not matter how much you have invested in the household, a family member will have more of a right to the property or whatever else belongs to the deceased, meaning you have no rights, although you have helped financially and may wind up with nothing. Marriage is like a contract between two people and can be beautiful with the right companion.

its sad that some ppl see marriage as a burden its a chance to yes have lots of sex and have a steady companion and the fact that you have the same companion and partner is appealing to ppl like me who arent comfortable with sleeping with a large number of partners or want the comfort of someone who loves me when im sick or sad and the fact that someone took the time to know the little things that make me happy and that gets my jokes and the fact that i can do those things for a person i love too means that marriage is a good thing and would be better if ppl actually had any respect for it these days its hard to get that out of a friend since they are going to have other ppl who need their attention the same way you do

Everyone wants love, sex, companionship, happiness etc. and no committement. In simple words, who will look after the baby ?? Marriage is a legal way of putting committement and responsibility on the shoulders of a man and a woman. Once committed, it lasts a lifetime. It is not as easy as, we play with the baby and when we are tired we throw it away.

I think you don`t know the meaning of friend. For companion friends are ok but for sex. In friendship there is no place for sex.

marriage is a civilised way of living in society . if u stay with someone without marriage then firstly there is a fear that he/she may leave u easily and secondly it will be not civilised. then what will be the difference between animals and u.
