leogirl (below) If you have an out of control deficit, an unprotected border, and a looming recession, giving tax cuts to those who shlter half of their income anyway is not a sound policy.

jez (below) Clinton era, targetted tax cuts stimulated the economy (smal bussiness, middle class, ect). Bush tax cuts did nothing for the average citizen.

Tax cuts (which IS part of a sound domestic policy) - those folks drive the economy and when they spend, everyone benefits. Without a thriving economy, foreign policies become difficult because a country is not taken as seriously as it would otherwise.

I am definitely against tax cuts for $200K+ wage earners unless the rest of us get tax cuts too! Income tax should be abolished anyway. If we can't get rid of the Federal Reserve, which is no more Federal than Federal Express, then a simple national sales tax of 2% to 5% should take the place of the income tax. This would actually be constitutional, and no item would ever be taxed more than once. So, if you buy something secondhand or third hand, there would be no tax on that item. Also, things that are required for basic survival, like food...should be exempt!!!!

Tax cuts. When most of the revenue going into the treasury is paid by these people. This is exactly why you libs are seen as crazy. These two points have nothing to do with each other in the grand, macro scale of things. This was just a dig at conservatives.

This is apples and oranges. These are not mutually exclusive, either. Tax cuts stimulate the economy, and people spend their money, which is good for the economy. Sound domestic policies can include tax cuts.

If we had sound policies, We wouldn't be wasting so much money, and thus would not need to take as many taxes, so everyone who pays income taxes (about 50% of us) would get tax cuts.

Talk about a one sided, loaded, ridiculous question. Why would you compare these two examples, they have nothing to do with each other. How about both? You libs just don't get the FACT that when you give people more of their money to spend, the government actually makes more money.
