We're looking for a hotel/resort with a great water park or water slide for kids.

I stayed at Pointe South Mountain Resort, and I really enjoyed it. They have a great water park and water slides for children. Golfing, tennis and volleyball. Nice restaurants, places to walk and good opportunities for shopping. It was also conveniently located for taking siteseeing trips. Very helpful and friendly staff.
I do not know how is Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. But looking from the pictures on their site it also seems to be a nice place to stay.
Which ever of resorts you would choose I believe you would be able to enjoy yourselves at any of them.

I concur that overall the Pointe at South Mtn. Resort may be the best due to more amenities offered as well as being far more convenient. The Pointe at South Mtn. does offer a large kid friendly water slide and pool area, as well as tennis, golf and a huge indoor athletic club. They have 2 excellent restaurants and the large indoor AZ Mills shopping Mall is an easy 10-12 minute walk. Lastly their location is only 5 miles directly South of the Airport and there are several (5-6) other good restaurants nearby (Aunt Chilada's-Mexican-5 minute walk).

I stayed at the Squaw Peak resort and *loved* it. They have a very kid-friendly waterpark.
