If an ectopic pregnancy is strongly suspected, then a gynaecologist will perform a laparoscopy to confirm it. During a laparoscopy, the fallopian tube is often removed at the same time. Sometimes open surgery is required to remove the pregnancy.
Methotrexate can be used as a chemical treatment. It is used in non-urgent cases to dissolve the pregnancy without harming the tubes and other organs. Repeat hCG levels will be taken to ensure that the pregnancy is dissolving and that further treatment is not needed.
The outlook for future pregnancies depends on whether the fallopian tube appeared normal or not. Generally 1 in 5 women who experienced an ectopic pregnancy will experience another ectopic pregnancy.

If by "cured" you mean that the pregnancy can be saved? Then the answer is no. What happens in ectopic pregnancy is that instead of the fertilized egg implanting(attaching) into the soft tissue of the uterus, it attaches in the fallopian tube. Unfortunately the only cure for ectopic pregnancy is to remove the fertilized egg so your fallopian tube doesn't burst as the fetus grows.

No. Ectopic pregnancies is when the egg inplants in the fallopian tube instead of the uterine wall. The only thing to do is surgery, and early detection is better because if it goes undetected you could actually die from a ruptured fallopian tube.

if this is the case for you, i am so sorry. your doctor should explain that the baby will not make it to term. it is usually detected early on and so that the mother survives and can reproduce again, the pregnancy is terminated (it is not an abortion by the way and it is not optional).
i will pray for you or anyone going through this- we lost a baby last year and although it is difficult, time heals all wounds

the only way they are cured is by termination ectopic pregnancies do not go to full term b/c they do not develop in the uterus where they can grow and be nourished. they are hazardous to the moms health and are ended.

It can be terminated (contrary to what austin beleives it is aborted a termination of ANY pregnancy no matter WHERE it is is still an abortion...even a miscarriage is an abortion) but that's all, the pregnancy can't be saved.

It can be terminated in order to save the mother and her reproductive organs but it cannot be "cured" as in moved in to the uterus and still be a viable pregnancy.

I think there's a very high-risk procedure that moves the embryo from the tube to the uterus, but I'm not sure. I don't think it would be worth the risk.

It cant be saved if that is what you are asking.. The only thing that can be done is for the doctor to go in and remove it before it causes any damage to you...
