I think I have the most wonderful and easiest thing to market. Problem is I don't trust any of those companies that advertise to help you. Do you know what the next step would be? I don't want to lose this grand idea by someone stealing it from me.

1st--do some research on Google--are you sure this is a new invention? If so,....
2nd--apply for patent protection. A local attorney will be able to give you a price range over the phone. ALWAYS ask for a price range before you hire an attorney! "How much would it be for you to do a patent search and help me submit the patent application?"
3rd--Raising money. You could try a bank loan or angel investors. Angel investors are a good choice for some inventions--Google "angel networks" or "angel investor association" in your state, and you will get matches.
