Look, I don't want child support. In the state of Idaho it seems they MAKE you have it. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can avoid this whole issue?

yeah they make you have it, they dont want taxpayers paying for the child when you are having a hard time.

state and federal government are tired of parents not paying for their children, so they passed all of these laws.

how to avoid it? stay off any kind of programs or aid. then they dont know about it. if you go on welfare, they will go after the deadbeat worse then the IRS.

Take the money and put it into a school, higher education savings for the child.... I am not aware of a way to avoid getting the money ... go to the child services office and ask them about it, maybe you can sign a waver, but if you are recieving any kind of gov. help I doubt they will offer you the choice... but like I say , take the money and put it up for the child, that is who it is for anyway, so put it into a savings account to make sure the child has a good start when the time comes...... God bless

Yes. When you get the check, put it into your checking account. Then issue the same dollar amount to your ex. Mail it to him, if you must. There is no way to stop what is set. You could of told lawyer you don't want it, like I did. Lawyer insisted. I sent it back to ex. I would suggest to the courts that you want a mediator instead of lawyers to take this case. Have you and ex hash out deal with kids and money in mediator presense. It will save you both a bundle. If your doing this to just get the ex out of your life for good however, he will always be those kids dad no matter what. I don't know your situation. I did not want child support from my ex. I respected him, just could not be married to him. Our child is way better off, because we took the mediator option instead of lawyers. Mediator only works, if neither of you hate each other enough to do damage to the kids. You just both want peace.

nicely, he isn't paying it. whilst he would not fairly have a job to garnish wages from, how are they meant to garnish his wages? The cs continues to be accruing against him, and he won't be waiting to flee with it consistently. in spite of the reality that, he can for a frustratingly long term. My ex has never paid baby help, 8 years now. He misplaced his license after appropriate to the 1st 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, won't be able to license a vehicle, or something. He would not artwork except that's below the table, and has not filed taxes in 8 years. He has a listening to in June for contempt of court docket. this may well be his 4th contempt listening to, and that they'll probable provide him yet another 3 months to start up paying his baby help. It in basic terms is going on and on!

Look, child support does not belong to you - it is for the CHILD. In many states agreements between parents not to pay child support have been overturned by the courts because again it is not about the parents - it is about the CHILD's right to be supported by his/her parent. I don't know what your motivations are for not wanting support but your child may in the future want the money for something - so just put it in a bank account in their name and turn it over to them in the future.

Good luck.

Child support is for your children not you, so it is not up to you to decide whether or not you are to receive it.

If you do not want to use the money as it comes in then open bank accounts in the children's names and deposit the money into those accounts - they are entitled to it. If you have some issues with your former spouse then that's between you & him. He is required by law to support his children so put that money to good use i.e. a college fund.

AZ was the same way. They were going to force me to have it. After I showed proof of why I did not want it from another state and court....it was granted. I guess you can go to a lawyer and ask for a free consultation. There is always a loop hole, just a pain in the a$$ getting the answer. Good Luck

No way around it if it's the law. But once you get the checks, cash them and send the money back to him if you really don't want it. Or better yet, put it in a savings account for your kid(s).

ok, u dont want it, so u can try and waive ur rights to it, and if that doesnt work, then have the childsupport go into a savings account set up for ur child/children, and when they are of age they can use it for college or whatever they wish..

This is a first! Usually, Yahoo is filled with shrill, greedy single mothers looking to take every cent they can. I have no sympathy for single mothers, if they hadn't picked losers, they wouldn't be broke and bitter.
