Yes, we were together for more that two years, and it took time to work it out after the breakup, but we managed to salvage a very close friendship.
It's not easy, but it can be done.

Almost all of my ex lovers are now my best friends. It's a little on the intimidating side for my current girlfriend but she's fine with it now. If we have a special enough relationship to start being physical, I'd want to keep that even after we stop being physical. Sex is only as important as the emotional bond you have with that person. If the sex stops, there's no reason why the relationship has to stop all together. Just change it around a little bit.

It is possible. I'm still friends with a couple of exes of mine...sometimes it's healthy to get an honest opinion about things from someone you trust. It can hurt at first to see him with another girl, but that too passes. Good luck with that

It would depend on why you broke up in the first place. It is possible, but probably not easy. You both would have to want to be friends in order for it to work.

It's hard to remove all the emotional and sexual stuff aside and just think of them as a friend. And there's probably a soft spot in your heart where you may be hoping to rekindle the relationship.
Can you stay as friends, or could it be something more?

yea kinda of, i been good friends with someone i dated, we lost touch a few times but still found each other and are still good friend she is even friends with my wife..
