It depends on where you are coming from. Are you coming here from a suburb? somewhere in the city, but far south or far north? you need to give more details. There are some metra trains that travel to the north side of Chicago. For instance there is a train station at Addision on the Metra line. You'd get off there, then take a bus east on Addision, get off at Clark street and walk about two blocks north.

But in general, if you get off the Metra train downtown, you'd find the red line (it's east of the Metra Station, ride north (ask somebody), and get off and Addison. Once you get off at Addison, walk west past Wrigley Field, make a right and keep walking, The Metro is about a block and a half away from Wrigley field.

You don't want to use the Metra. The Metra takes you back and forth between the suburbs and chicago. You want to use the CTA. Go to this website: http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com/ and enter your starting and ending locations. Your best bet is to get the exact addresses of where you are starting and ending. The Metro's address is: 3730 N Clark St, Chicago, 60613.

You are not going to take the Metra, you should take the El. Hop on the Red Line at any downtown stop and go North toward Howard.
Get off at Addison.
Walk west on Addison to Clark (past Wrigley Field) and turn right on Clark. It will be a couple of blocks north on Clark on your left.

You can do it but it would mean getting on a CTA bus or 2. Go to the CTA website. The el will get you closer.
