Former Head of Virginia ACLU Arrested on Child Pornography Charges.
This story was not covered by major media outlets, including the NY Times and NBC. Why? Contrast this to the media blitz on Ted Haggerty.

Added info: Here's one prior example of Nadine Strossen President of the ACLU (author of: Ponography: Free Speech, Sex, and the Fight for Women's Rights) speaking in opposition to the Communications Decency Act (see link below).
The ACLU eventually prevailed in a Supreme Court appeal (Reno v. American Civil Libeties Union) and had major portions of the CDA overturned.
THAT'S why this case should have been relevant folks. The ACLU on a national level fights to allow the possession of this kind of material.
What "kind of material"? The words kiddie porn don't properly convey what this guy had on his computer. These were videos of forcible gang-rape by adult men on screaming, terrifed pre-teen girls (we don't know what happened to the girls afterward).
How can anyone say that an adult minister having paid consensual sex with a gay prostitute is more newsworthy than what ia revealed in this story?

The only one of the alphabet/cable news stations to cover it was ABC on their web edition only. And even then it is only a few paragraphs long.
The liberal media are again covering for one of their own. They can end the career of Mark Foley over IMs sent to an 18 year old former page but they allow a former President of an ACLU chapter to get locked up on multiple counts of posession of graphic child pornography and they don't bother to mention it.
At least we now know why the ACLU is vehemently against Megan's Law and Child Predator laws... they are just covering for their own.

Well, the liberal socialist that invaded the news medias, universities, and Hollywood, are not going to rat out their partner in crime. The ACLU was founded by a socialist, named Rodger Nash Baldwin. Anyone who doesn't know this needs to go study this. Read the humanist manifestos, and quit being a kool aid drinking "useful idiot" A great question man. Maybe a few people will wake up , and realize what is really going on.
The New York Slimes is not going to report this. Nor the other socialist in the news media. Think I am a Joseph McCarthy??? Better read before You accuse.

The simple answer is that it is not that big of a story. He was a FORMER head of a small Virginia branch. Seeing that he currently is doing no work for them, he is not, or ever was a public figure. Ted Haggerty was and is a very public person. We all know who he is. That is why the news about him was so shocking. But this former ACLU guy, he is just not known. So it is a local story only. Bill O was having a fit about this the other night, because he 1) Hates the ACLU and 2) Because he wants to make as many negative references to NBC that he can.
Let's be honest - this story happens everyday. Way too many times. It is a shame that there are so many bad people in the world. But there just is not enough time on the real NEWS programs (not the talking head programs) to report every story. And since this guy was not a big time player in the ACLU, and currently is not even working for the ACLU, it is just not that big of a story. It is thought, another attempt by Bill O'Reilly to make NBC (really - MSNBC and CNBC) look bad. Why CNBC - because Fox is getting ready to launch their business channel.

Press will always show the dirt on the conservatives for long periods. The ones liberals might get their misdeeds splashed on the media to show they are balanced. Remember the media has an agenda. They don't hide it, even though they say they don't. The conservative side acknowledge their agenda.

Because, it's apparently OK for someone who wants this made available to actually have it himself.
Ted Hagerty was supposed to be an icon of morality. The VA ACLU guy, in contrast, wanted internet filters removed in public libraries. No surprises.
I'm sensing a paid cover-up, quite frankly.

I saw that story earlier, I think it's because the main stream media is still covering Anna Nicole and Some are talking about the hypocrite Al Gore.

Any undesirable news against the ACLU must be covered up. Liberal media doesn't want to risk having it dissolved, the ACLU does the dirty work for the Liberal agenda.

Well, Ted Haggerty is contraversial. Any religious leader is expected to be above standards. More than likely, since Rust-Tierney was a lawyer, they didn't expect much.
The difference between a catfish and a lawyer: One is a scum-sucking, bottom-feeder, and the other is a fish.

It was covered, but not as well as you'd have liked.
The reason Ted HAGGARD got more publicity is because he was the head of a national organization, the National Association of Evangelicals, and was very much in the limelight already.
Plus, doesn't it seem ironic and more interesting when a man of God gets into a mess like what Haggard did?
