it is scripted. it is up to the wrestler though to make the script work and look good, that's their job, so if they really do dislike each other and bring in emotions to the ring and dont do whats in the script then theyre not doing their job and its bad for business.
there are, however, times when something goes haywire and the wrestlers have to scramble. sometimes it just finishes right when something goes wrong. but other times the wrestlers keep it going as in the old theater addage, the show must go on.
a great example is this past new years revolution. dx was wrestling with rko. hhh got hurt, his rectus femoris, it is the quad muscle that connects to the top of the patella. he knew it wasnt time to finish. when the others, mainly michaels and edge, saw that something wasnt going well, you could completely tell that they were scrambling and coming up with stuff to do off the top of their heads.
so is it fake? as far as the storylines yes... for the most part. but its not because we beleive its real that we watch, its cause of the story lines and the athleticism.

The outcomes are scripted some of the moves are pulled a bit. The action is real, the danger is real. The wrestlers are generally aloud to conduct the match as they wish within the storyline. Contrary to popular belief the outcome is not always determined before the match, and sometimes even when it is, its subject to change until the winners hand is raised. Sometimes the ref is given the desired outcome in his ear piece and he lets the wrestlers know. The crowd reaction can at times determine the winner. Do wrestlers ever choose to not follow storylines? Probably but they don't stay employed long.

these guys for the most part are friends outside of the ring. They work very hard NOT to hurt each other. Accidents do happen. look at stone colds neck injury as an example.Or HHH. Otherwise all matches are scripted, interviews , everything. It used to be where only the finishes were actualy scripted and how the got to that point was up to them but not anymore. When they go city to city they wrestle the exact same match night after night.

the chair shots are real however I dont know how hard those chairs actually are. The actually blade themselves in the forehead to bleed real blood. sometimes you can catch them balding themseleves you have TIVO or something like that and do slo-mo.. In the past there were some wrestlers like Vader who would really punch people if he didnt like them. These type of wrestlers were called "stiff" workers. When they hit you the really hit you pretty hard. Thats not so much anymore since WWE is corporate garbage now.

It's called Sports Entertainment for a reason. Everything is scripted but they do get out of hand sometime. They cut themselves in the ring or they burst capsules in their mouths for the blood effect. But accidents happen. Triple H is out with a serious injury for the second time and people have died because of this sport.

Its fake to an extent. They probably step out just like any actor does but tries to keep to the main plot.
These guys do take some big punishment in the ring. But other wise its just a soap opera in the ring.

Think of it as an improvisation. They have a scenario more than a script. And the physical combat, though planned is still very painful.

I believe that the "winner" of any given event is predetermined but I also believe that a certain amount of pain is endured by all contestants. It is all done for the sake of entertainment. I feel tempted to suggest some real sports be watched as others have but I believe the saying "to each his own" is the best attitude to have.

this is in simple terms as faux as action scenes in movies or performing oftentimes. What you notice is real although this is scripted and the strikes are made so as that they appear like they injury extra advantageous than they do. The wrestlers be responsive to the thank you to accomplish the strikes in a manner that they are no longer getting injury. nonetheless, from time to time the wrestlers get injury in the event that they botch the flow or they land incorrect etc.
