RAM on a graphics card is completely separate from RAM on your system board so it doesn't matter if they match.

Your motherboard determines what DDR you can use. Some support a range of DDR, older ones only support DDR etc. Yet even older motherboards only support SDRAM in both the system RAM and graphics RAM.

System RAM and video RAM operate completely independent of each other. Your system having normal DDR will have no effect on your video card hgaving DDR2. Games, etc may run a bit faster if your system has DDR2, but it will probably be barely perceptible.

in the journey that your asking what i think of, NO! DDR and DDR2 style ram have different setups in how they artwork. they don't have the comparable shape in thier connecting chips (that's what i'm going to call it) the two, with each and every "prong" as one might describe it, being different in composition and with "notches" in differerent spots, making it impossible for any 2 categories of ram for use interior the comparable computing device, a minimum of not without surely removing and changing out the actually device (the component which you would be taking the ram strip out of or putting a sparkling one in. The ram is plugged into the computing device into the spot i'm talking of) directly to the computing device. i does not comprehend how uncomplicated it is, or if there are to any extent further technical steps to try this precise

nope. You don't need to have DDR 2 if your video card uses it. My computer uses DDR 2 while both video cards has GDDR3.
