When I went for my pap smear, I asked the doctor about birth control and she gave me some samples. I would ask about samples first. Good Luck!!

Each clinic is going to function a little differently-you'll probably need a pelvic exam and pap smear to get the pills, but they'll let you know . The cost will also vary-Planned Parenthood is a common place to start, but it's not always free or reduced cost-it depends on how that particular planned parenthood is funded. Your local health department also may have a program to provide free or low cost birth control.

You can call up and make an appointment, asking for contraception or birth control (whichever you prefer) and you'll have an exam and they'll discuss your options with you, talk about side effects and risks, and your health and help make a decision about what might work for you.

Good luck.

If you don't have any health insurance, then I would look into a county agency like Planned Parenthood. You call to make an appointment and tell them that you would like to start birth control pills. At your appointment they will look you over, breast check, pap, etc. When he/she is done, then you can ask about the different alternatives for birth control. If you decide on the pills, then you will be charged by the month. The price would be determined by your income. If you don't want to pay, then you don't have to get the pills. In any event, if you are considering being active, I would definitely look into this. Make sure to practice safe sex too since there are too many STD's going around. Take care.

I would go to Planned Parenting. They can help figure out a price range for you. Also, don't just use the pill. The only 100% effective way to avoid pregnancy is abstinence, but using multiple birth control methods (e.g. the pill and a condom), makes it almost impossible to get pregnant (although it has happened before).

First you have to have a pelvic exam before you can get a prescription for birth control. Then you have to decide which is best for you, your life style etc. LISTEN to the doctor as far as cost I have no idea what they cost. Mine were always free (military) and my daughter went through Planned Parenthood for hers it's about $15.00 for three months but I don't know what it will cost you...that is something you have to discuss with your healthcare provider.

prices vary on Birth Control it depends on where you buy them. check around. when you do go to the clinic they will probably ask you what you need and how they can help you. and all you have to do is tell them, and they will probably give you a physical. and try to determine what is the best birth control for you.

Talk to Planned Parenthood. I think they have a sliding scale for the Pill, or they can help you find somewhere to get it.

Make sure you use a condom, too, unless you've both been tested. The Pill doesn't protect against STDs.

If you go to a clinic like planned parenthood, they will only charge what you can afford. They will base that upon whether or not you have a job and how much you make at that job. Please go it is much better to be safe than sorry.
