Where do these nerdy asian stereotypes come from anyway? First off I ain't asian so dont think im trying to prove something. But here in NYC the asians here (in public schools) are all gang affiliated and have dyed yellow bangs and are really rude, always spitting on the ground and stuff...where did all these stereotypes about asians come from and are the asians in the suburbs really like those nerdy ones on tv?

b/c a lot of the smart kids have Asian ethnicities. And professions that require a high degree of knowledge like doctors and engineers have a lot of Asians in them. Also, Asians (Indians) earn the most money in America, whites earn the 2nd most.

Well there are bad asians and good asians. The bad asians are in gangs and have died hair and play mah jong and shoot people. The good asians carry slide rules and do trig and occasionally fight Godzilla. Oh yeah I am just kidding! Sometimes there is some truth to stereotypes, trends occur within a certain group of people, but people always take it way too far and lump everybody together. Its really stupid.

thats a very easy question
theres legitimate studies out there that examines the academic grades of asians (some dating back to at least the 1980s), and how there fare much better than their minority counterparts
recently, there was this nyc asian kid who ACED a whopping nine AP exams, all taken within a MONTH
i took five APs myself (except i cant exactly say i aced all of them^^, and i didnt take them all in one month)

I think it originated by the statistics of Asians getting the highest on standard test(i think it was the SAT)
And no, I'm not a gangster or a nerd,lol. I DID dye my hair purple though...too bad it 's REALLY not obvious(you can barely c it):(

the nerdy ones come from the Chinese that use the abacus in pre k. by the time they get to 6th they use an imaginary abacus at great speeds.
