At my mother's we had her favorite hymn Amazing Grace. At a friend who passed away we played When I get where I'm going by Brad Paisley. I think the song played at your funeral, should be a reflection of the person who died. Years ago I went to a funeral that played the mans favorite songs from the 60's and 70's. It was quite interesting to here the Rolling Stones "I can't get no satisfaction" at the funeral.

Amazing Grace How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now i'm found was blind but now i see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear and Grace my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear the hour I first believed
Through many dangers toils and snares, we have already come
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far and Grace will lead us home
When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing Gods Praise than when we've first begun

idk, i try not to think about it. because i have been to funerals where they play songs and i cant listen to them now without crying. a friend of mine died and they played that "look at this photograph" song by nickleback, and they had a slide show, and the part came on about "what the hell is on joey's head" and they had a picture of the guy and his friend, who just happend to be named joe, with something on his head. so now every time i hear that song i think of the funeral and i cry a little. so whatever music gets played at my funeral better not have words, i dont want people to have their favorite songs ruined by my funeral, because they have already had to deal with my death i dont want them to have to remember it everytime they hear a certain song.

I think Lucie's response is great. LOL. I think I would like Garth Brooks song, 'The Dance". There's a sweet line...And I'm glad, I didn't know the way it all would end...I could have missed the pain, but then I'd have to miss the dance...

well my husband wants me to play goodbye my lover by james blunt at his funeral (that is if i am still here!) and at his nanas funeral they played you raise me up, but her son in law sang it, it really was beautiful.
Maybe another choice is your beautiful by james blunt. Amazing grace is used too much, although is a lovely song.
i will always love you by dolly parton/whitney houston
thats all i can think of now

Believe it or not I want people to have fun and enjoy the rest of their lives if I am not there with them to experience it, so to keep with the fun atmosphere I would want "Wake me up before you go go" by Wham! to be played at mine, that is if I do in fact get a song of my choosing to play....
