I was curious as to what you think about my now second favorite show of all time (the new Battlestar Galactica has since replaced it), Babylon 5. For its time in the mid 1990s, it was a fantastic story with some incredible special effects that were groundbreaking for that era. However, when compared to the shows of today, it looks a bit dated and the series doesn't have the edge that Battlestar Galactica has nowadays. What do you think?

The visual effects were quite cheesy....especially when you consider they were on the air at the same time as Deep Space Nine, yet the latter has much much better effects.

Also, the acting was hit or miss...that first commander in the first season...UGH! His voice made me want to scratch a chalkboard.

But the writing I believe was indeed very very good. And it deserves a lot of credit. It was less of a sci-fi show like the Trek series or many other science fiction shows. Instead of science fiction, I tend to think of Babylon 5 as a good "Futuristic Political Drama". Cuz that's what it really turned out to be most of the time. (And I liked it.)

Babylon 5 did a great job of handling the whole fractal theory and using claccic literature and cultur to make the show interesting and enjoyable. I think it had a little of everything for everyone. I wish it hadn't ended but that is the beauty of the show, you can start all over again with a whole new cast and tell a similar story with the same planets.

Great Space Opera! Go John and Delenn! There was so much great intrigue on the show, plus the Narn/Centauri give and take with Londo and G'kar. Have you seen it on DVD? The sound is SO clear and the colors POP. It's wortht he rewatch every time. My dad and I sit together and analyze shows.

Too many of my fave actors have passed away.

it fairly is a pity "Sarah Connor" replaced into axed. exciting, exciting sequence. yet "Heroes," which has been in the sh*tter for over a season, is going on. Fox could have given it a lil extra time -- the Christian Bale action picture is going to restore activity in the franchise. i'm unlikely to be too no longer ordinary on "American Idol," in spite of the undeniable fact that. I rejoice with it for what it fairly is and it fairly is a great lead-in for one among my fashionable new sequence, "Fringe." at cases it incredibly is good to have one great, incredibly-fed on hit human beings can rally around. i'm apprehensive NBC won't renew "Medium," what with the great-chinned, skunk-haired comedian (sorry, Jay) getting a on a daily basis 10pm application. "Medium" is so underrated -- the appropriate mix of horror, fable, and real-existence drama.

I loved it, although I found season 5 a bit disappointing. Overall, one of my top 5 shows ever.
