I had a miscarrigae at 20 weeks with my 1st pregnancy, My other 3 pregnancies were fine but for the first 5 months I was always nervous. If anything seemed wrong at all I would call the doctor. Thank goodness he was great and understood my concerns. It is hard, I lost my baby in 1993 and still think of her. It never goes away, but it does get easier.

Take it one day @ a time. Or even an hour @ a time, if you need to. Make milestones for your baby & celebrate them. Try 18 weeks, then 20 weeks, then 22 weeks.... Be sure to get an ultrasound and lots of pictures with it around 18-22 weeks. That will reassure you. You can even start making a scrapbook for your baby (Mom & Dad before baby, Mom's Belly, Ultrasound Pictures, etc.). Other then that, All I can suggest is taking it one day @ a time. Good Luck!

I did back in 97 and it was heartbreaking. The placenta detached, I started bleeding lightly, but even after a month of bedrest I lost her.
I know it's really hard. I've had three, but then in 98 I had a healthy baby boy. All you can do is pray to your god or goddess for inner strength and hope for the best. Take care of yourself, don't push your body physically, and try to center your mind on good things.
Good luck, hon, and I'll send good thoughts your way.

It did not happen to me but it happened to my cousin when she was 19 weeks pregnant. Somehow the placenta detached and her little girl died. She was devastated. They did footprints and everything and she went to grief counseling.
I can understand your fear and your not wanting to get too attached to this one BUT if you have a really good OB, he/she would understand your fears and concerns and make it a bit easier for you by keeping you aware of how well this one is going and reassure you that this one is fine and not to worry. Getting worried about this impending time again is not good for either yourself or the baby.
Take heart and be positive that this one will be fine. You will be in my prayers.

I am really sorry that this is going on with you. One thing i thought about was that if something like that happens, there is a reason for it, as horrible as it sounds. Please just relax and take it easy, because the more stress you put on yourself, the worse things could get. Lay down (on your left side, better circulation) and keep your chin up. I am praying for you, sorry if you don't believe in God. I hope all works out well for you and your baby.
