As a mental health practitoner for 20+ years, now retired, I'd first of all suggest that seeing someone for "one time" is a very ineffective way of finding anything in anybody, but, if you really want to know where to go to find a "good" counselor, you first have to say how you define a counselor as "good". Once you get those factors down, and I'd suggest writing them down just to keep those characteristics in mind as you look, you could ask people you have faith in or trust, and see what recommendations they give you. Your friends may know people, but, take their recommendations "with a grain of salt" as the old saying goes. I'm sure there are adults in your life you can talk to and find counselors here and there. So, just do it. Ask, and keep that list of characteristics of a "good" counselor you have written down, with you. You'll find one quicker than you can imagine. God Bless you.

Your Mother child. She is your first and your last Counselor. You will be surprised what a Mother can teach you. It took me 38 years to start listening to my mother but If I were to rerun my life over again my Mother would be the first one to express myself to because she know of me not a stranger. Believe it or not Mothers watch everything and knows everything and one thing is a fact you are your mother and if you really notice some things you do are exact. So I advise you, your Mother is first.

You can go anywhere in your city to find a good counselor or someone who will listen too you. I can understand how difficult feelings can be. But, without someone who is willing to listen to you they are of no service to you at all.

Do you have a good friend or possibly a pastor at your church?
Sometimes it's good to have someone that will stay neutral.
